A BLESSED LIFE
Yesterday was our anniversary. A celebration of 45 years with my beautiful bride. I have been blessed. The family was there, except one who was sick. We looked back and recounted the faithfulness and many blessings of God through the years. We were overwhelmed with cards with well wishes and encouragement. I’m detouring from Psalm 119 to share a passage that was written on one of the cards.
Hebrews 6:18–20 “ so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”
The people who shared this are aware of our{my} cancer battle. This is a great reminder that, no matter the situation, we do have a hope. A hope and a promise, that in death, we will enter the veil-into the presence of God, just as Christ did before us, just as Abraham did according to God’s promise.
Bible footnote: “Christ has gone ahead into heaven, and as our hope/anchor, though out of sight, He holds us secure, especially times in of storm.”
We have been through times of storm. Emergency surgeries, the loss of two infant grandchildren, three encounters with cancer, two behind us, one is alive and well in my body. In all of our storms, we have seen God’s fingerprints and blessings. Our prayers are for healing, a healing that only God can do. But more importantly, we desire God’s will and that through all of this He would strengthen our faith and use us as an encouragement to others.
Thanks for stopping by..
