Psalm 119:1–8

In psalm 119 we see the word delight often used to describe our reaction to God’s word. So I ask myself, “Self are you always delighted to read God’s word?” Unfortunately if I’m honest ,I’d have to say no,not always.

WE also see the word meditate used a lot. to think deeply or carefully about something. We are to think carefully about God’s word and be delighted by it.

I’m taking Psalm 119 by sections and sharing random thoughts , not that I have any great wisdom, but if I can encourage one person, it will be good. I may skip a verse here and there,feel free to add your thoughts.

Psalm 119:1–8

v1) How blessed are those whose way is blameless, Who walk in the law of the Lord

v2) How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart.

Q) How is my walk? It can hardly be called blameless. Do I seek God with ALL my heart? Do I recklessly pursue Him, or do I stick him in my back pocket……just in case?

v4) You have ordained Your precepts, That we should keep them diligently.

Q) How diligent am I at keeping /obeying God’s standards for my life?

V5) Oh that my ways may be established to keep Your statues!

Q) Are my ways established, do I live my life in a way that reflects God’s statues/laws? If so verse 6 says

Then I shall not be ashamed when I look upon all Your commandments.

Q) Do I value/follow ALL of God’s commandments, or just the ones that are easy or that I think apply to me?

>You can be ashamed of God to be accepted by men, or you can embrace God, in spite of men’s opinion. When you do the latter, you have no reason to be ashamed before God. Your choice……
